So Far So Good!

I am making up a felting display for the 'Open Day' our Knit'n;Natter Group are having at the Ashdown Forest Llama Park on 15th February. I have, in the past couple of year, made three bags - Market Squares (Bags a Knitter's Dozen), B4 Bag (Once in a Bllommon) and My Constant Companion - so I am currently making the 'before' versions of the same bags and am nearly at the end of the B$ Bag (Bag 2). This means there will be a completed version and an unfelted version of each bag so that visitors can see what the felting process does to the yarn.

It's tough going as at least two of the bags are knitted with worsted weight yarn held double which is a bit hard on the hands!

Ruched Bag

Finished my Ruched Bag (Two Old Bags pattern). I love the pattern but am not happy with the way the bag came out - it felted far too quickly and far too thickly! I shall definitely make the pattern again though but will use Cascade 220 as I trust how it felts!

I am not going to wait for the handles I ordered for the bag - I am going to use some others that I have already and save the new ones for something else.

Found them!

I managed to find my lovely handles only to find I didn't have any suitable for the next two bags *Ruched Bag and Market Squares), so I had to order some didn't I?

I have been good though - I've only bought some yarn to make Auntie Ann a clappy for christmas, It was in Hipknits sale - 600g aran for £10.50 (plus pp) with approx 900/1080 yards, so I should have enough to make her a good size one. I have also swapped a book for some yarn this week.

At the moment the thought of buying yarn horrfies me for some reason. I think Amber has managed to drum into me that I have enough! I am saving up for Ally Pally though - yes, we are going this year PROVIDED my sight doesn't get too bad.

I would really like ...

... to make a bag I can use everyday.

I'm finally ...

.... making a bag but not the Mitred Squares one from Interweave Felt 2008. I am making the Two Old Bags Ruched bag in pink and black Fleece Artist Kid Aran from, wait for it, MY STASH!

Trouble is, I appear to have mislaid all the lovely handles I bought last year so I have had to order some.

I have also priced up some handles for the Red Market Squres and they are going to be almost £40.00!

Well I managed to get all the projects finished before the end of 2008 except my clappy which should, hopefully be finished today!

I have an urge ....

..... to make bags!

1. Ruched Bag in Fleece Artist pink & Black aran DONE
2. B4 Bag in CTH Potluck Bulky
3. Market Sqaures in shade of red$.
4. Counterpane Carpet Bag in Noro Kureyon
5. Drawstring Tote bag in Green/yellow Kauni

All are felted and will be made very, very soon!

At last - it's just an illusion!
